Solid cast aluminium mailbox based on an original Hessian mailbox, featuring an additionally mounted newspaper holder below the large front door. The newspaper holder is also available in a more simple version (Type 1-3) with the word "ZEITUNGEN" in various fonts. It can also be closed on one side upon request. The letter slot can be personalized with an inscription in raised block capitals – for example, your family name. The original font is available only with the text “BRIEFKASTEN”, “MAIL BOX” and “BOITE AUX LETTRES”.

The model for the basic mailbox is a Hessian city mailbox of the Grand Ducal Hessian Post Office around 1865, with a sculpted lion and four rosettes on the front, as well as a raised post horn on the right and left sides. The original paintwork of the then cast-iron mailbox was blue, with gilded lettering.

The mailbox is mounted using two included, sturdy screws through the back panel.
The distance between the mounting holes is 29 cm, but can be adjusted upon request.
